Wooooow.... hiiii there.... University stole my life most of this year but I did somehow find time for art and I hope to be around on occasion...
In the meantime, I have a funny story I was going to post last fall but I never got around to submitting a journal.
Okay so with flu shots, a standard blood test, and a another shot to prevent meningococcal meningitis (hahaha I can barely say that) which I should've got years ago, you'd think I'd be over needles.
Well, the needle part I can get past, it's the person administering the needle I can't!!!!!
Okay, so I have to tell people this, because I still can't get over it!
So the university was offering flu shots for students (free since the government is paying for them this year) so I went in the morning to go get mine. I waited in line, and when it was my turn, the older woman giving the shots switched off with this younger woman. I thought nothing of it; I sat down and pulled up my sleeve. I'm a bit of a chicken, so I looked away and focused at the wall. I was expecting her to say something before giving the needle. But when nothing happened for a while, I moved my eyes to look back over my shoulder to see what the heck she was doing. Then I saw her finally getting ready, and she didn't say anything, but I quickly focused on the wall again.
Then, without warning, she literally stabbed me with the needle!!! No joke; she probably went overhand with it, too. I didn't make a sound, because I didn't want to seem wimpy or something, but I'm sure my eyes bulged (and no one saw). After she was done (and she really pushed the syringe down fast - ow!) can you guess what she asked me?! She said, "Oh, no reaction?" and I just stared at her for a second. Then I said "I guess not," and left. My mom said I should have replied, "What, did you expect one with the way you shoved that in, you b****?!"
I've got flu shots before, but let me tell you, that was the only one that was more than a prick ever!!
And my experiences don't end there! A few weeks later, I got to get my blood test done. The man doing it was very impatient. He asked, "Which arm?" and I replied, do to my lack of experience getting bloodwork done, "is there one better than the other?" (and cause I tend to think I'm 'funny'). Then he said "no" and practically grabbed my right arm and put the gurney around it. Needless to say, my skinny arm was very sore for the next two or three days! I don't know he managed to have trouble finding my vein; I'm very pale!
Sooo... besides those fun experiences, I've finished my first year of university with flying colours (which helped me land a job just lately). I also had wisdom teeth surgically removed at the beginning of May (owwie...), and am currently thinking of switching my major to computer science. I have yet to see...
How's everyone else doing?? Drop me a comment! I'm afraid I had to clear all DA messages because I had over 9000!!!!! (like almost 13k to be exact!)

Commission Information:
Please note me or comment on journal if interested.
-------------------------------------
What I primarily draw:
>Fantasy Art and Creatures
>Character/Creature Portraits
>Humans, elves, dragons, demons, etc.!
>Natural Animals
>Some Architecture
>A portrait of you (If a good reference photo is given)
>A Character/Species reference sheet
>I'll do fanart if I'm familiar with the franchise.
I'm willing to give anything tasteful a try; I pretty much stick to a "realism" style, as seen in my gallery, although I can do other styles. I am pretty open to drawing what a person wants, and I'm not really that interested in making money (I mostly want to buy another DA sub, and I'll be happy). Send me a note or a comment and I'm very willing to negotiate.
-------------------------------------
Digital Drawings/Paintings:
Example 1: A detailed portrait of your character, with a simple background/textured background.
Example 2: A semi-detailed painting of your character, full-body, 3/4s, etc, with a simple background.
Suggestions: Suggest something to me! (:
Some Examples of previous commissions:
Zeh'Drik
Earl Geoffrey
Prince Thondalin
Other Examples:
Fluff Gliding - Gecko (somewhat abstract)
A Curse Time Would Dismiss - Character portrait
You're Still You - Two character portrait
Elf WIP - Stand alone character
Pirate Design sheet or a reference for a Dragon Species - Reference sheet
Approximate Cost: 800 DA Points or a DA subscription (About $10-$15)
>+400 DA Points for addition characters or a detailed background (About +$5)
(Note that I will sometimes do two characters without additional cost; it really depends on how much effort it will be to draw them both. ^^ It's also negotiable what constitutes as "two characters." Obviously I'm not going to charge you for two characters if one is like a silhouette or one if a tiny baby you can hardly see anyway.
-------------------------------------
Pencil Drawings:
This one is much more open, since I find pencil a little less work.
Some Examples:
Hush
Beguilement
Hollow
Volvagia's Defeat
Assassin's Creed
Approximate Cost: 400 - 800 DA Points or DA subscription (About $5-$10)
-------------------------------------
All commissioned artwork remains my own property (not the characters though, obviously; you just can't use my artwork for free and make money off of it, like on a book cover without my written permission and additional costs!) However, I will email the large resolution and unwatermarked version to the requester when the project is completed and full payment received!)
